Our Mission

Cultivating the best information for hoteliers to mitigate the damage of COVID-19 and get back on the road to recovery.
As the novel coronavirus and subsequent pandemic worked its way across the globe in early 2020, tourism – one of the world’s largest industries – was ground to a halt. Economies were sent into tailspins and the ramifications rippled through hospitality markets around the world. When the majority of the world’s population suddenly stops congregating and conducting business, hotels become an afterthought.

Hotel Recovery 2020 was launched in April by a team of former hospitality editors turned marketers with one goal: Helping hoteliers survive COVID-19 by staying informed. We believe in the resilience of travel – that demand will return and our industry will be there to welcome guests again, with new and innovative guest experiences and improved safety standards.

The effects of coronavirus on hospitality business owners have been detrimental. Layoffs are commonplace. Bills will go unpaid. In the worst cases, businesses will close and properties will be turned over to receivership. Across our amazing industry, hundreds of thousands of hoteliers are faced with unprecedented challenges requiring immediate and drastic actions. Many of us have pivoted quickly to new projects and new roles.
