Dear hotelier,

Thank you for taking a moment out of your undoubtedly crazy day to check out HotelRecovery2020.com.

The effects of the novel coronavirus and subsequent pandemic on hospitality businesses around the world have been devastating. Across our amazing industry, hundreds of thousands of hoteliers are faced with unprecedented challenges requiring immediate and drastic actions. Many of us have pivoted quickly to new projects and new roles.

Hotel Recovery 2020 was launched in April by a team of hospitality editors with one goal: helping hoteliers overcome the challenges of COVID-19 by staying informed. We believe in the resilience of travel – that demand will return and our industry will be there again to welcome guests, with new and innovative guest experiences and improved safety standards.

Through HotelRecovery2020.com and our daily newsletter, we’ll curate updated data and resources, as well as provide best practices around how hoteliers are both adapting and preparing for recovery.

The site will undoubtedly evolve, but here’s where we’ll start:

  • Hoteliers across the industry have stepped up to help, sharing news and building information and resources for their colleagues and peers. HR2020 editors will scour the web and cultivate the most objective resources, then deliver them through daily posts and a daily newsletter.
  • Data collectors throughout the industry have done an incredible job shifting their benchmarking and release schedules to help hoteliers better understand and mitigate the effects of COVID-19 in real time. HR2020’s Data Dive page will feature the latest industry numbers.
  • Across the industry, associations, media outlets and solutions providers are focused on building and collecting resources to help their partner hotels. New information in the form of video chats, webinars, strategy guides, etc. are being produced daily. HR2020 will provide links to the most educational resources.

We believe that, as an industry, we’re all in this together. If you have a story to share about hoteliers embracing their roles in the community and helping those in need, drop us a line. In return, we’ll share best practices and tips for staying afloat over the next few months, as well as how to position your hotel for the fastest recovery.

Perhaps most importantly, we’ll be here every day throughout 2020 to document the inevitable return of travel across the world. Thanks for joining our community.
